Fodies will love this place. Super locally-focused Californian fare served in an upscale-rustic, historic roadhouse with garden views. Delicious food and hip, beautiful decor. Zagat review: The "extremely local" Californian fare is "A-1" at this "quirky" Olema spot from the owners of Manka's Inverness Lodge, where the "fabulous" dinners include a high-end Saturday supper prix fixe.

This iconic trail is the scene of the annual Dipsea run from Mill Valley over the mountain to Stinson Beach in June. At other times of the year, it is a beautiful and challenging trail.

Essentials

Great local market. Also sells Parkside bread and has a coffee stand in high season. A bit pricey, so best to buy most of your food from the other side of the hill. You can also get basic household items.
